Purpose
Dear Marist Friends
It is a very joyful task for me to thank you for deciding to join us at our Marist Education Conference in Guardamar, near Alicante, from the 6th to the 9th June. The objective of the Educational Conference is to facilitate Marist Leadership into the future. In 2017 we celebrate the bicentenary of the foundation of the Institute and it is our intention that this conference will pave the way for new opportunities relevant to Marist education in the years ahead. In this context 'Awakening a New Dawn' has been chosen as the theme for the conference.
The 70 participants, including Brothers and lay colleagues, attending the conference come from the five countries that comprise the Province of West Central Europe; Ireland, Scotland, The Netherlands, Belgium and Germany, as well as colleagues from the Marist Fathers schools in Ireland. We will have speakers and presenters from Australia, the USA and Europe. The Conference will focus on the rich Marist tradition we have inherited and explore what it means to be a Marist educational leader. It will allow the participants to evaluate the possibilities and challenges in their own educational settings. It will also enable us to establish networks, to build relationships and continue the dialogue between Marist Educators into the future.
